Well I started a new job this week so printing hasn’t been in full swing. Despite that, there has been some interesting prints and some further learning.
3DR – RepRapDiscount Full Graphic Smart Controller case
As part of finishing off my Prusa i3 Rework refurb I have been making a case for the RepRapDiscount Full Graphic Smart Controller. This one looked well designed so I gave it a print.
No major problems here, I just might have added supports for small aesthetic pieces. Oh I did have to print a different big button because the original didn’t fit. It might just be a different type of button so I printed the one from here instead.
Fits together great and looks good.
This is a beautiful print-in-place model. The head and legs move and you can (and I did) print hollow. That is so cool. I did this one slow (20mm/s) to try not to ruin any of the small details.
Now it wasn’t without issue and I really want to print another one but as the pictures show there’s room for improvement.
I think the next time I print this I will be using supports ‘everywhere’ and also making the shell wall thicker and that may fix it up nicely.
Until next time.
